The construction of the Notre-Dame d'Alfortville church began in 1889 and was completed in 1891 with the support of several benefactors, including Marie-Alexandrine-Adèle Roland-Gosselin (1851-1932). The inauguration of the church took place on March 25, 1892. In August 1932, a fire ravaged the church and a restoration was undertaken in 1933. The façade of the building underwent a major renovation completed at the end of August 2016.
C31892/1903Although there are certain elements pointing to Cavaillé-Coll in this organ, the organ itself is built by Charles Mutin in 1903. It was damaged in the fire of 1932.1984A major restoration took place in 1984, supported by the Municipality of Alfortville and carried out by Bernard Dargassies. He made substantial changes to the pipework and added a chamade and a cornet positioned above the main organ. The casework, console, action, windchests, and blower remained largely original.2022–2025Restoration by Jean-Christian Guerrier: return to the original condition. The pipework was fully restored, with all original pipes returned to their proper places. Missing elements were replaced with faithful copies. The two stops added during the last modification were removed and not reused. One particularly remarkable stop is the Clairon, which Mutin had not originally planned. The first two octaves speak at 4’, with the 8’ break already on C.Source: Technical Report on the Restoration Work of the Alfortville Organ – Manufacture d’Orgues Jean-Christian Guerrier (in French)
