The Institute of the Assumption is a Catholic educational institution under contract of association with the State, commonly called "Lübeck" in reference to the rue de Lübeck, where it is located.In 1882, the Religious of the Assumption of Lübeck entrusted the architect Albert Allain with the construction of their buildings. The chapel, in Romano-Byzanti style, was completed in 1889.

The latter, very gifted in business, had developed the manufacture of small series organs intended to accompany an assembly for a fairly reduced price. Originally, the instrument was located at the Abbey of Val Notre Dame near Liège, Belgium.
